In Spain, a military general who was vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine’cut-off’ eventually resigned.
The Spanish military issued a statement on the 23rd local time and said that General Miguel Angel Villaroja, who received the vaccine even though he was not the first candidate for vaccination, expressed his appreciation for the honor of the military, AFP and dpa news agency reported.
According to local media, Spain’s Defense Minister Margarita Robles accepted General Villaroja’s resignation on the same day.
In addition to General Villaroya, Secretary Robles says there are Pentagon officials who have been vaccinated, and that additional resignations may be repaired.
The Spanish government prioritizes vaccination among high-risk groups, including nursing home residents and employees.
Prior to General Villaroya’s resignation, some senior police officers and politicians were also vaccinated and dismissed.
