Spanish Designers Custo Barcelona and Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada Shine at New York Fashion Week

New York, Sep 10 (EFE).- The Spanish designers Custo Barcelona and Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada starred in the third day of New York Fashion Week, where they coincided in proposals full of color and freshness for the spring-summer season 2024.

Both headed the Fashion Designers of Latin America (FDLA) catwalk in a bright “loft” overlooking the Hudson River in Chelsea, Manhattan, where more than a dozen designers and a hundred models will pass through this Sunday, including some representatives of Miss Universe.

Custo Dalmau, the creative soul of Custo Barcelona, presented a collection with about 50 outfits in which minidresses, caftans and the “two-piece” top and pants stood out, with a fusion of materials and graphics, and its characteristic experimentation. lines and volumes.

There were formal and fresh sets of printed pants and a white shirt, long dresses with leg openings, short flared ones and capes that gave movement, or short structured jackets, all in pastel, fluorescent colors and with transparent and metallic details.

As Dalmau explained to EFE after the show – for which there was a long line and followers wearing their previous creations – the proposal was called “Object of desire” and was, essentially, about “provoking desire in women through emotion so that they want to buy.

Immediately after Custo, designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada deployed a collection of naïve inspiration, with her emblematic multicolored motifs of hearts, stars and circles, to which she added clouds and suns in an innocent welcome to summer, both in clothing and in headbands.

The designer opted for dresses, both short and long, and two pieces of blouses with pants or skirts in which she played with volumes; And as a complement she included large striped sailor-style bags with her logo printed on them.

The Spaniards gave way to the bulk of the FDLA, which for years has been bringing talent from Latin America to the New York event, with striking proposals such as that of the New York brand Y III Chuan Eo, which used a neutral palette for its jacket suits and ensembles. Casual pants and top. EFE
