The well-known Spanish dancer Joaquín Cortés, 54, was rushed to Madrid after he lost consciousness a few days ago while playing with his two children and is still in hospital awaiting a diagnosis. It was the artist himself who told about his state of health in a post on Instagram.
Ill for weeks Cortés was busy touring his new show “Esencia” and according to “El Pais” not even his colleagues, with whom he shares the stage, were aware of his state of health. On social media, the dancer reported that he started feeling sick “weeks ago”, with “cough, tiredness, headache”.
The alarm bells: cough and sudden blindness “Nevertheless I rehearsed non-stop for weeks and managed to dance in Madrid at the Teatro Real (March 14) and in Barcelona at the Liceu (March 26),” reads the post. What started out as a simple scare gradually got worse. “A few days ago, while driving my son Romeo to school, I started coughing and was dizzy while driving. I was scared, but then it passed. The other day I arrived in Madrid from San Sebastian and on my way home from At the airport I started coughing again, but this time I had to ask Mónica Moreno (his wife) to take the wheel because suddenly I couldn’t see anything”.
Fainting in front of the children Cortes fell ill again a few days ago, while he was playing with his two children: Romeo, three years old, and Andrea, two years old. “I passed out immediately. I arrived in the emergency room with a very low blood oxygen saturation. I have since undergone cardiological, neurological and pulmonary examinations.” The artist explained that he is on antibiotics and oxygen and that he is still in the hospital awaiting tests and a diagnosis.
