The Field Artillery Group of the Brigade “Galicia” VII has begun its deployment to participate in the “Dynamic Front”, a multinational exercise to prepare the NATO Very High Availability Joint Force (VJTF), which will take place in Turkey from September 5 to 20.
About 80 Spanish soldiers will participate in this Artillery exercise, led by the United States Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) and designed to improve the integration and interoperability at a human, technical and procedural level of all command and control systems. in the matter of long-range fire supports. The standardization of these procedures is known as Artillery Systems Cooperation Activities (ASCA).
To do this, on August 20, four artillery pieces were shipped in the port of Vigo, along with 10 vehicles and 20 containers, bound for Izmir, on the Aegean coast. From there, all the material will be transferred 500 kilometers inland to the town of Polatli, located southwest of Ankara. The Spanish military must integrate and coordinate with units from the United States, Italy, Turkey and other NATO countries.
The “Dynamic Front” is the continuation of another multinational exercise carried out in May, in this case in Romania, in which various units of the VII Brigade also participated, among them the “Zamora” I Motorized Infantry Battalion. —Belonging to the 29th “Isabel la Católica” Infantry Regiment—, the Headquarters Battalion and the Sappers Battalion.
