Daniel Sancho Bronchalo, son of Spanish actor Rodolfo Sancho, star of “El ministerio del tiempo”, confessed that he murdered and dismembered Edwin Arrieta (44), a Colombian plastic surgeon, on a tourist beach in Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand. The detainee admitted to being guilty but claimed that he was a “hostage” of the murdered man.
“I am guilty, but I was Edwin’s hostage. It was a glass cage, but it was a cage. He made me destroy the relationship with my girlfriend, he has forced me to do things that he would never have done,” said Sancho, 29, in dialogue with his Thai public defenders and island police officers.
Daniel Sancho went to court on Monday and the judge ordered provisional detention for him and he was transferred to the island of Koh Samui, in the south of Thailand, to give a statement before the Justice of the Asian country, which has formally accused him of murder and ordered his immediate admission to the Koh Samui prison, where he will remain in provisional detention until the trial is held.
In a statement released to the international press, actor Rodolfo Sancho asked for “maximum respect for my son and the family in these delicate moments and maximum confusion.”

The actor and the family of the young Spaniard also asked “the media to refrain from issuing any hasty judgment”, given the recent events that have been disclosed.
Daniel Sancho, who was on the tourist island of Koh Pha Ngan with the deceased, went to a nearby police station “with cuts and scratches on his body” to report the victim’s disappearance. Finally, he ended up confessing the facts to the Thai Police. As the first investigations show, “the parts of the body, including hips and thighs, that were found in a garbage dump on Thursday” could belong to Edwin Arrieta Arteaga.

“The victim and the suspect knew each other before coming to Thailand, and their dubious activities indicate that they may have murdered the victim. The investigation is ongoing,” said Koh Pha Ngan Police Chief Panya Niratimanon. The remains of the victim were found by a garbage collector. “I have instructed the police to keep a close eye on him for fear that he may resort to suicide,” he added.

Earlier in the week, Daniel Sancho was captured by several security cameras buying knives, a saw and garbage bags. Close sources said that the young man could have been “threatened with death” and “forced by third parties” to commit the crime.
