Spain Wins Bronze at Beach Tennis World Cup in São Paulo, Equaling Best Result in 2021 and 2015

Antomi Ramos, number 6 in the world in the men’s circuit ranking, and Ariadna Granell won the decisive mixed doubles to give Spain the definitive point that accredited them as the third best team in the Beach Tennis World Cup held in São Paulo ( Brazil). The national team defeated France two to one in a close fight for the bronze medal. In this way, it equals its best result achieved in 2021 in the edition also held in Brazil and in 2015, in Russia.

Spain fell clearly against Italy, five-time world champion, in the semifinals by two to zero and they played against France the option of closing the championship with a new medal. Except in the men’s doubles match, which escaped in a tight super tie break, the team led by Carles Vicens dominated the French team to win the meritorious bronze medal.

“It was a very close tie, we lost in the super tie break in the men’s doubles match and we won the mixed match well. We are happy with third place, but not totally satisfied, we wanted to reach the final and fight for the gold medal. Our minimum goal was third. We want to return next year to fight for that title that we have left,” added Antomi Ramos.
