MADRID (AP) – People vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Johnson & Johnson injection, which is a single application, will receive a booster from another brand, Spanish health authorities said Wednesday.
The Ministry of Health reported that the J&J vaccine has been less effective than others. Therefore, the people who received it will be able to reinforce it with a dose of Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna after three months.
Only 1.9 million of the 37 million vaccinated Spaniards have received the J&J vaccine.
Spain has one of the most successful voluntary vaccination campaigns in the world. 88% of the population over 12 years of age is vaccinated.
