Spain registers slight drop to 812 in daily death toll

Spain recorded, in the last 24 hours, 812 deaths with the new coronavirus, a slight reduction in the number of victims in a single day, bringing the total balance to 7,340, according to the latest update from health authorities.

Figures from the Spanish Ministry of Health also show an increase of 6,398 in the number of infected, less than the 6,549 new cases announced on Sunday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has recorded a total of 85,195 cases of covid-19, of which 7,340 died and 16,780 were discharged and are considered cured.

Spain is the second country in the world with the highest number of deaths, after Italy, which has 10,779 fatalities in 97,689 cases registered until Sunday.
