Madrid: After Qatar were eliminated from the World Cup after a shock defeat to Morocco, Luis Entique has stepped down as coach of the Spanish soccer team. Spain Under-21 coach Luis de la Fuente could take over as new coach.
Luis Entikwe was named national team manager after Spain were eliminated from the 2018 World Cup by Russia. Under him, the team reached the semi-finals of the 2020 Euro Cup. The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said in a press release that it would like to thank Luis Entique and other coaches for their service to the national team.
The new head coach will be officially decided during the RFEF meeting on 12 December. Spain lost to Morocco (3-0) on penalties without scoring a single kick in the match which was goalless in regular time and extra time in the pre-quarters.
