With an estimated thousand tractors, they caused a nice traffic chaos. According to the organizations protesting the low agricultural prices, this was one of the largest farmers’ protests ever in Spain with more than 20,000 farmers.
There were also demonstrations in other cities such as Lérida in the northeast and Lucena in the south.

Many Spanish farmers see their existence threatened. Protesters called for help from Social-Democratic Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who is leading a left-wing government. According to farmers, there are six supermarket chains in Spain that keep prices for agricultural and livestock products low.
