The Spanish national team qualified for the semi-finals of the women’s football tournament at the Olympic Games in Paris, after defeating their colleague Colombia 4-2 on penalties.
The match, in both regular and extra time, ended in a 2-2 draw, with penalty kicks being used.
Spain, the world champion, suffered “both things” and needed penalty kicks to reach the last four in Lyon The Colombian team took the lead in the 12th minute, through Mayra Ramirez, before her colleague Lisi Santos added the second goal of the series. 52nd minute, and in the 79th minute Jennifer Hermoso scored the first goal for the Spanish national team, while her colleague Irene Paredes equalized in the seventh minute of stoppage time in the second half.
After the end of normal time for the game in a 2-2 draw, two extra periods were used when the result did not change, and penalty kicks were decided, which made the team of Spain won 4-2 to meet in the semi-finals of the competition, with the winner of the match between Brazil and France.
