Those over 70 years of age are almost completely immunized, an issue that Darias has highlighted since, as he said, Spain has been one of the first countries to immunize vulnerable groups, mainly residents and those over 80 years of age.
More than 93% in the 60 to 69-year-old group have at least one injected IV and 34.6% have the complete regimen.
This group is further behind since it was vaccinated mainly with AstraZeneca, whose schedule between doses is about 12 weeks, although some communities have chosen to reduce this period to speed up immunization in the presence of the delta variant.
Thus, in immunization they are more advanced in the 50 to 59 age group with almost 60% of citizens with the complete vaccine shield, while 83.6% have the protection of some serum.
Vaccination of 40 to 49 years old is also advancing with 54.6% with some injected prophylaxis and 16.4% immunized.
Some communities are already vaccinating in the 30 to 39 age group, while the Canary Islands are entering the 20 to 29 age group and Ceuta has today been the first territory to do so.
All communities, as well as Ceuta and Melilla, have already exceeded the threshold of 50% of their population over 12 years of age vaccinated with at least one serum, with Asturias in the lead and close to 70% (68.5%).
Likewise, all territories are above 30% in the immunization of the population over 12 years of age and Asturias, once again, is in the lead with 43.8%.
