Spain on Thursday recorded 551 deaths from the Covid-19 pandemic in 24 hours, a figure slightly up after the decline recorded Wednesday, announced the Ministry of Health.
In total, 19,130 people died of the disease in the third most bereaved country in the world behind the United States and Italy. But this assessment is increasingly contested as the regional authorities of Madrid and Catalonia have mentioned thousands of deaths not listed in the national assessment.
