It may look a lot like a flying grain silo, but for SpaceX it is an important test on the way to the moon and Mars. For the first time, a prototype of the new Starship spacecraft has been flown 150 meters into the air and then landed again.
Until now, Elon Musk’s aerospace company had only taken such a leap with Starhopper, a smaller test model. Now we have done the same with a prototype of the same material and size as the Starship that should go into space in the coming years. SpaceX fans were enthusiastic about the test. “Can that thing fly?” Asked someone wondering.
