SpaceX Successfully Launches Falcon 9 Rocket with Crew-7 Mission Astronauts to the ISS

INDOZONE.ID – SpaceX successfully launched the Falcon 9 rocket from the Kennedy Space Center on Sunday (27/8/2023) at 03.27 am local time, NASA announced.

The rocket carried four astronauts on NASA’s Crew-7 mission into orbit, and their Crew Dragon capsule successfully docked with the International Space Station (ISS) at 9:16 am.

The four astronauts who went to the ISS are Jasmin Moghbeli from NASA, Andreas Mogensen from the European Space Agency, astronaut Satoshi Furakawa from the Japan Space Exploration Agency, and Konstantin Borisov, a cosmonaut from Russia.

After the Crew Dragon capsule named “Endurance” successfully docked with the ISS autonomously, the number of crew at the station increased to 11 people. In a few days, three members of NASA’s previous mission, Expedition 69, will return to Earth.

“Aboard the station, the crew will run more than 200 scientific experiments and technology demonstrations to prepare for missions to the Moon, Mars and beyond, all while benefiting humanity on Earth,” said NASA Administrator Bill Nelson.

The actual launch was planned for Friday, but NASA announced a delay to ensure the environmental control and life support systems were functioning properly.
