SpaceX Rocket Launches 4 Astronauts to ISS

WASHINGTON DC – Four astronauts are en route to the International Space Station (ISS) after a spectacular launch Wednesday night (11/10) from the US spaceport in Florida.

American astronauts Raja Chari, Kayla Barron and Thomas Marshburn and Matthias Maurer from Germany, blast off from the Kennedy Space Center aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon to begin their six-month stay on the ISS. They are expected to dock with the ISS on Thursday (11/11) evening. ,” reports SpaceX.

The launch of the four astronauts, originally scheduled for Halloween, was postponed due to weather problems and illness that were not disclosed to any of the crew.

Maurer is officially the 600th person to fly into space since manned spaceflight began 60 years ago.

This is the third official operational team, and the fourth overall to fly to the ISS on the SpaceX Crew Dragon since last May, when the US space agency NASA first restarted sending astronauts from the US mainland since 2011, when the shuttle program to space ended.

The crew of two was first launched by SpaceX into orbital outpost to demonstrate Crew Dragon’s capabilities.
