SpaceX launched the “Falcon 9” rocket on June 6, 2023 (Japan time). The Cargo Dragon supply ship is an unmanned supply ship that transports supplies to the ISS. “Dragon CRS-2 SpX-28” (CRS-28, Dragon supply ship operation No. 28) is the 28th service mission by SpaceX, including perishables such as apples and blueberries, equipment and hardware, various experiments It is equipped with devices and microsatellites.
In addition, two new solar arrays “iROSA (ISS Roll-out Solar Array)” are installed in the trunk (non-pressurized part) at the rear of the resupply ship. iROSA is being installed on top of the existing solar array in order to compensate for the ISS’s power generation capacity, which has deteriorated due to the deterioration of the solar array over time. A total of six iROSAs are scheduled to be installed on the ISS, and four have already been installed by December 2022.
In addition, Cargo Dragon successfully docked to the ISS’s second junction “Harmony” module at 18:54 on June 6, 2023 Japan time.
