SpaceX’s travel mission Ilona Mask Inspiration4 returns to Earth after three days in space. They will land on the night of September 19 off the coast of Florida (USA).
The crew of four carried out a flight into orbit that has no analogues in history. The return live streamed on SpaceX’s page in YouTube (scroll to the bottom of the page to watch the video).
“The Inspiration4 crew is ready to return to Earth,” SpaceX said on Twitter.
The astronauts were launched into orbit on a Falcon 9 rocket that took off from pad 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The four crew members were trained for a month for the mission and were dressed in sleek white flight suits of the same type as professional astronauts. Among them are a businessman, an employee of a children’s hospital, a test pilot and a teacher.
Unlike previous crewed SpaceX missions that flew to the International Space Station for NASA, Inspiration4 independently flew on a flight path that exceeded the height of the station and any other SpaceX Dragon flight to date – about 585 kilometers above Earth.
As reported OBOZREVATEL previously, Elon Musk’s SpaceX on Thursday night, September 16, launched the first civilian mission into space Inspiration4. The crew consists of four tourists.
