SpaceX Crew Medical Update: Astronauts Transferred to Florida Hospital After Gulf of Mexico Landing

Crew members of the SpaceX Dragon capsule were transferred to a medical center in Florida – instead of returning to their base in Houston -, according to information from CNN.

According to the United States news portal, the team consisted of three NASA astronauts and a Russian cosmonaut.

One of them remained in the hospital this past Friday afternoon (25) with a “medical problem“, and the other three returned to Houston after a health assessment at a hospital near the crew’s landing site.

“To protect the medical confidentiality of a crew member, specific details about the individual’s condition or identity will not be shared,” Cheryl Warner, NASA’s chief of news, said in response to CNN.

“The one astronaut who remains hospitalized is in stable condition and under observation as a precautionary measure,” the statement said.

Before landing in the Gulf of Mexico, the crew of four spent nearly eight months aboard the International Space Station, a routine mission carried out by SpaceX on behalf of NASA.
