SpaceX recently made its thirty-second rocket launch this year and recently broke its own record for the number of annual launches and satellite deliveries for its own Starlink high-speed Internet satellite system, reports Reuters.
Elon Musks SpaceX recently broke its own record for the number of rocket launches in a calendar year – the thirty-second this year – and thus last year’s number of launches. The company is fully engaged in reaching the 2022 goal of fifty-two satellite deliveries into space, almost doubling last year’s number.
For the rocket launches, Falcon 9 is used – a reusable rocket, which can be fired up to 15 times, which is very efficient and economical.
SpaceX continues to build Starlink, its own satellite system for high-speed Internet connectivity. Starlink consists of a series of satellite clusters in lower Earth orbit with a distance of 550 kilometers from the atmosphere as opposed to geostationary satellites at a distance of 35,000 kilometers.
The short distance to the earth provides a clearly better and faster connection. To date, Space-X has installed more than 3,000 Starlink satellites in orbital orbits around the Earth. The final launch carried a cluster of fifty-three satellites.
Starlink an indispensable help for Ukraine
SpaceX has been very helpful in the war against Russia. Ukraine has been provided with portable Starlink satellites to connect to the internet as their own network has largely been knocked out. The war began with a national cyber attack from the Russian side, the aim of which was to knock out the country’s communications.
Thanks to Starlink’s satellites, Ukrainians have been able to stay connected and communicate with the outside world, which has been of great importance. Starlink has also been of immense help in the war; localization of artillery fire, missiles and control of drones, writes Reuters.
Russian hackers have attempted to attack Starlink, but failed, as they were unable to locate the portable satellites.
Space travel for the general public
SpaceX was founded in 2002 by Elon Musk with the business idea of establishing interplanetary travel for the public – for those who can afford to pay for a ticket to space. To that end, Space-X has a home-built fleet of reusable rockets – Crew Dragons – that can transport humans to international space stations and back to Earth.
During launches, Crew Dragons are placed on top of the large Dragon-9, reusable rockets, which are used for launches into space. Travel has so far been limited to the vicinity of Earth, but Elon Musk has far-reaching plans to build communities on the planet Mars. The interest has shown enormously and many are prepared to leave life on earth for good.
Through its special expertise and entrepreneurial spirit, Space-X has revolutionized the space industry. With innovation-driven technology and high risk-taking, they have developed spacecraft manufacturing methods that have proven many times cheaper and faster than any manufacturing to date. It is a company that contributes to technological development in a pioneering way.
