TRIBUN-MEDAN.com – A new telescope will soon be built to search for habitable planets in sistem Alpha Centauri.
Alpha Centauri is the closest solar system to Earth and has three stars.
Two of them are like the sun.
The third star is a red dwarf called Proxima Centauri, a cold, long-lived and most common type of star in the universe.
This red dwarf is known to have at least two exoplanets, one of which is quite similar to Earth.
But it seems rare that detailed scientific studies of this star system are just four light-years away.
In fact, the planets in Alpha Centauri can be the most convenient destination for mankind outside our solar system.
That’s the reason behind the new mission to investigate Alpha Centauri called TOLIMAN.

This unique lens will make it easier for astronomers to use the scope to detect small deviations in the movement of stars that are usually caused by the gravitational influence of orbiting planets.
