Next Saturday, November 23rd, 2024, an event that has never happened before will take place in Salzburg‘s old town – the “Space Rave” in the Caverns 1595. 96 laser projectors will literally catapult the guests into space, the caverns will disappear completely. The rave is “for everyone, anyone who wants to can come. There are also two time slots,” explains organizer Sean Resinger.
SALZBURG. A rave in a listed location with 96 laser projectors that literally take you into space, with music only from local DJs and live. This idea of the “space rave” comes from organizer Sean Resinger, who had to fight for a long time to make it a reality. Now the time has come next Saturday, November 23, 2024. An extraordinary event also requires extraordinary advertising, so last weekend aliens and a fallen UFO stood in the middle of Salzburg’s old town on the banks of the Salzach to draw attention to the rave.
“A rave for everyone”
There will be two time slots (four hours each, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.). The event starts at 7 p.m. and, according to Resinger, is for everyone:
“Be it the family with children or older people. It’s ‘rave for everyone'”.
He adds: “It’s a hybrid disco – a combination of silent disco and loud disco. The decision is entirely up to the guests.” Only local artists will play as DJs, including main act Tactical Delay.
“We want to offer them a big stage and it will only be played live,”
so Resinger.
360 degree played space
The location is also something special. The Kavern 1595, event rooms in Mönchsberg, were equipped with 96 laser projectors years ago. They are now perfect for the “Space Rave”. Namely because they can use the rooms 360 degrees. Among other things, you can follow how a UFO floats from left to right.
“The caverns disappear completely, you feel like you’re in the universe, in space,”
emphasizes Resinger, who also financed the event and wanted to do something for the young cultural scene in Salzburg. He sees the whole thing as an investment for the city and wants to create a statement. Two “space raves” are planned for next year, one in Salzburg, the other somewhere in Austria.
