“Space Race Heats Up: Elon Musk’s Starship vs. Europe’s Juice Space Probe”

The competition has sharpened in recent weeks. This Thursday, April 20, Elon Musk will attempt to put the world’s largest rocket, Starship, into orbit from southern Texas. Developed by SpaceX, this super-heavy launch vehicle is designed for trips to the Moon and Mars.

Last week, Friday April 14, it was on the other side of the Atlantic that the applause resounded. The Juice space probe flew to Jupiter and three of its glacial moons: Callisto, Europa and Ganymede. Never had the European Space Agency (ESA) ventured into such a distant exploration, 630 million kilometers from Earth. A successful launch that we had the chance to follow from the National Center for Space Studies (CNES) in Toulouse.

Does this mission mark the great comeback of Europe – and of France – in the conquest of space? And are we really behind in this area? Discover our long video format.
