The certification of the gas pipeline will be protracted and this winter it may not work, according to Uniper.
One of the European partners of the Nord Stream 2 project, the German company Uniper, does not expect the gas pipeline to be commissioned next winter. The timing of the certification process for SP-2 was announced by the CEO of Uniper, Klaus-Dieter Mauchbach, reports Reuters.

“As far as I know, certification of the pipeline will be so late that it probably won’t be able to help us this winter,” he said.
Mauchbach also commented on the situation with a shortage of gas supplies to Europe.
He believes that Russia has been a reliable supplier for decades: “All the contracts we have signed with the Russian Gazprom group are being fulfilled.”
As a reminder, in early September, the Federal Grid Agency of the Federal Republic of Germany received documents for certification of Nord Stream 2 AG as an independent gas transmission operator. Consideration of documents and making a decision will take up to four months… Then the decision must be referred to the European Commission.
