Masked Singer Winner’s Hilarious Secret: A Fictional TV Show and Mom’s Surprise
Soy Kroon, 29, the newly crowned winner of the Dutch version of The Masked Singer, recently revealed a surprisingly funny strategy he employed too keep his participation a secret from his own mother. The singer, who performed as the majestic white horse Pegasus, concocted a entirely fabricated television program to explain his frequent absences.
“I explained it as a kind of ‘Best Singers’ that I was working on three days a week,” Kroon told the AD on Sunday, referring to his invented show, “The Big Sing Thing.”
“The surprised faces of Carlo and Monica, I thought that was so funny.”
Keeping the secret from his mother proved to be the most challenging aspect of the experience. “I found that the most difficult,” admitted Kroon after emerging victorious from the show’s elaborate costume. The added layer of secrecy was compounded by the fact that his girlfriend, Holly Brood, also competed this season, as the Mammoth.
The couple’s shared secret led to some creative, and hilarious, excuses. “After rehearsals, we usually drove from the studio to Holly’s mother’s house. We didn’t think at all about where we came from, and the funniest excuses came out of that,” Kroon chuckled.
Their shared participation offered unexpected advantages beyond the shared secret. “We practiced all the songs and dance steps together at home in sweatsuits and drove to the studio in a darkened van,” Kroon explained, highlighting their collaborative approach to the demanding competition.
Now that his win is public knowlege, Kroon plans a fitting tribute to his victory.”We will soon move [the trophy] to our toilet, where all our other prizes are,” he said. he also intends to commemorate the judges’ surprised reactions.”Especially the one of Carlo and Monica, I thought that was so funny. I should actually frame it; when I look at it, I instantly look forward to the day.”
