A technical problem for the moment unknown disrupts Southwest Airlines, the first American low-cost airline.
The American airline Southwest Airlines suspended its flights to the United States on Tuesday due to “technical problems”.
“We have had to ground flights due to intermittent issues, and we should resume operations as soon as possible,” the company wrote on its Twitter account in response to a passenger stuck in a device. In another message, the company specifies that it is about “technical problem” without however giving more details.
The agency responsible for overseeing air transport, the FAA, confirmed in a message to AFP that the company had asked it to “suspend all departures”. According to the specialized site Flightaware, more than 1,200 Southwest flights were delayed Tuesday morning, or about 30% of its flights in the United States.
Southwest Airlines requested the FAA pause the airline’s departures.
