Duel UEFA Nations League between England vs Italy will be held without spectators. The Three Lions Manager, Gareth Southgate regret the situation.
The English Football Federation (FA) has been suspended from playing behind closed doors due to riots caused by supporters ahead of the final Euro 2020 at Wembley Stadium, London in July last year.
The penalty will take effect in the match against Italy at the Molineux Stadium, Sunday (12/6/2022) at 01.45 WIB. Although closed, the match was allowed to be attended by around three thousand people, the majority of school students who were indeed allowed to enter for free with UEFA’s permission.

Facing Italy, which is the European champion, of course has its own prestige, but unfortunately this big game has to be held behind closed doors. For Southgate, playing in an ’empty’ stadium was a shame.
“If this (punishment) feels embarrassing, it applies to England as a country. The people who acted (in the Euro 2020 final), I don’t believe they are football fans,” Southgate said, quoted by Sky Sports.
“We’ve talked about this a lot, we discussed it after the final and after the punishment was given. I would say that most of our supporters who left for Germany last Tuesday were brilliant.”
“Many thanks to them, maybe people thought of something different, but there was a majority of the fans who were doing well,” said Southgate.
The riots in the Euro 2020 final had received criticism from various parties, especially from within the country. This is considered to be a negative point for England who want to propose to host Euro 2028.
