“The field of automation and advanced technologies has developed well in Styria in recent years. We also have a higher economic growth here than in the entire Styrian economy. “I am also very grateful to the automation platform because it offers a wonderful network and also encourages collaboration between science and industry,” he said. State Councilor Barbara Eibinger-Miedl This year’s European Robotics and Automation Conference. Robotic and automation technologies would support the industry in successfully positioning itself for the future – all experts and political representatives from Styria and Slovenia agree on this. So it is important to be at the forefront internationally.

“Styria is a land of inventions and creative minds”

AT Styria and GMAR recently invited renowned experts from home and abroad to Seggau Castle for the third time to exchange knowledge and ideas. Nearly 160 participants from nine countries took part in this conference, where well-known companies in the automation industry as well as representatives from 23 research institutes and universities discussed the latest innovations in robot and automation technology and emerging trends in robotics and automation. The subjects were as diverse and rich as the economic research fields themselves “Styria is a land of inventions and creative minds. Digital transformation is essential to ensure the competitiveness of Styrian companies. “Events like the ERAT support networking and knowledge transfer, which are very important for regional innovative strength,” said Herbert Ritter, Vice President of WKO Styria and Chairman of the Automation Technology Platform.

An intelligent representation was given a discussion and speech. The agenda included AI and machine learning, collaborative robots, augmented reality and autonomous vehicles. The potential partners were able to cooperate several times. The opportunity for B2B discussions, standing from research, industry and networks, a presentation by the Robocup World Cup teams from HTL Kaindorf, HTL Kapfenberg and HTL BULME Graz-Gösting as well as the subsequent networking event that concluded its program.

Visits created enthusiasm

On the second day of the conference there were two rounds of the program. The first round came to the ASFINAG tunnel control room in St. Michael, where the amazing technologies from evon were presented. After that we went to Pankl Racing Systems, where you could immerse yourself in the world of motor sports. The second visit came to Roto Frank Austria in Kalsdorf, where the team spent their successful training program, which successfully teaches the automation skills of the beginners. We continued to PIA Automation in Grambach, where their special expertise in the field of powertrain assembly was presented.
