The Southern Road Traffic Center warns on Wednesday about slippery roads on the E18 through Vestfold and Telemark.
– Occasional danger of slippery parts. Drive according to the conditions and keep a distance from the car in front, they write.
On Wednesday morning and early afternoon there were four traffic accidents on the stretch of road, from Tønsberg in the north to Larvik in the south.
A truck drove into a wall
Several vehicles have been involved in a traffic accident on the E18 near Larvik, the police in the South-East report.
The accident occurred in the Pauler tunnel in the southbound run. The road is closed, the police report.
– There is at least one lorry and two cars involved. As of now, there is no information on serious injuries, says operations manager Roger Aaser at the South-East police district to Dagbladet.
Unmanageable
The scene of the accident is unclear, reports the police in Sør-East at 12.15.
– Probably three cars involved. A truck train has first driven into the tunnel wall, then two passenger cars have collided, reports the operations center in the South-East.
A tow truck is on its way to the scene.
At 12 o’clock the police report that two more cars have collided at Skykrysset in Larvik on the E18, near the place where the police have closed the road in connection with the previous accident.
Drive according to the conditions
At the same time, there has also been a traffic accident further north on the E18 in Vestfold. In the northbound direction near Tønsberg, a car has skidded and hit the guardrail. The driver is uninjured.
Earlier this morning, a motorist drove into the guardrail on the E18 in Stokke.
– We don’t know the reason, but in the area in the middle of Vestfold, in the Tønsberg and Sandefjord area, it is mentioned that it is slippery, says operations manager Roger Aaser to Dagbladet.
– Drive according to the conditions, and think a few seconds ahead, he says.
There has also been an accident on the E18 in Asker. In the southbound lane after a collision from Slependen, a car and a lorry collided. There are no injuries, but the right lanes are closed at the scene.
On Høenveien in Bamble, a bus has driven off the road, the police report. Very slippery roads are reported here.
