Southern Norway will be the “weather winner” in the coming week – VG

In the last week, it has rained unusually much in Eastern Norway.

On-duty meteorologist Siri Wiberg now reports «better times»:

– We who live in the south or east of Norway will fortunately have a little more normal weather in the coming week. There is a lot of good weather waiting. Those who live south of Stad and Dovre will be weather winners in the coming week, she says to VG.

Western Norway will also escape large amounts of precipitation, according to Wiberg. However, this does not mean that it will be clear weather there:

– In Western Norway and on the coast, there may be talk of local morning fog and north wind, Wiberg says to NTB.

Wiberg explains that we are in a time of year where some fog problems can arise.

– With onshore winds along the coast, some fog can form.

In Central Norway, a more variable week is expected.

– Even though there will be stays in both Trondheim and Møre og Romsdal at the beginning of the week, the showers will return towards the weekend, Wiberg tells NTB.

Snow in the north

The population in the north must cover themselves with both rain and snow.

In Finnmark, snow over 300–400 meters is expected already at the beginning of the week.

– During the week, the temperature drops throughout northern Norway. Freezing temperatures and showers are expected, which means that a lot of snow can fall inland and in the height, says the meteorologist to NTB.

Forget that winter is coming

Although good weather has been reported in the south, Wiberg points out that we are in a period of the year where it is wise to follow the driving conditions.

– There may be some frost in the interior. It’s time to keep up, and in some places you should probably think about winter tires. There was snow in the mountains this weekend, she points out.

On Twitter, state meteorologists are urging people to find both an ice scraper and a warmer jacket.
