Formalized for 21.97 million the contract for conditioning works of the southern access to Badajoz by the N-432 highway
The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has formalized, for an amount of 21.97 million euros (VAT included), the works contract for the conditioning, rearrangement and improvement of the southern access to Badajoz, in the section Between kilometers 1.5 and 10.5 of the N-432 road. The corresponding announcement will be published soon in the Official State Gazette.

The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has formalized, for an amount of 21.97 million euros (VAT included), the works contract for the conditioning, rearrangement and improvement of the southern access to Badajoz, in the section Between kilometers 1.5 and 10.5 of the N-432 road. The corresponding announcement will be published soon in the Official State Gazette.
The purpose of this action is to improve road safety and urbanization of the road, connecting it with the urban fabric of Badajoz. The works are located entirely in the municipality of Badajoz and will be financed from NextGenerationEU funds.
The project contemplates the construction of a sidewalk on the right bank of the road, between kilometer points 0.9 and 1.5, to allow safe access for pedestrians to houses and facilities in the area.
In the same way, the road will be doubled between kilometer points 1.5 and 4.5 and 7 roundabouts, roads and service roads will be built along the entire affected section to facilitate safe access to neighboring properties.
Likewise, access will be given to nearby residential areas, including the Los Montitos Urbanization, the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda reported in a press release.
The action also entails the urbanization of the area around the road with gardens, public lighting and the installation of acoustic and anti-glare screens to separate the road from the houses. On the other hand, the project includes the replacement of the numerous existing services in the affected urban and peri-urban area.
The intervention is included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), which contemplates an investment of 357 million euros from the NextGenerationEU funds for actions to improve road safety and the protection of vulnerable users and fauna in the Network of State highways.
