[Reporter Huang Liangjie/Report from Kaohsiung]A Vietnamese woman who had overdue for prostitution surrendered to the Immigration Department’s Gao City special task force and reported for inspection to trace the “Shang Qing” human trafficking group across Gaoping. The troops went to the residence of 15 suspects in multiple ways to search, The suspects were arrested and charged, and multiple mobile phones, condoms, lubricants, as well as a large number of account books, illegal gains and other stolen evidence were seized. Six of the suspects were allowed to be detained, and 15 suspects were all suspected of violating the Human Trafficking Prevention Act. Suspects of crimes including crimes against moral decency and organized crime prevention regulations were transferred to the Kaohsiung District Prosecutor’s Office for investigation.
It is understood that Xiaowen (pseudonym), a Vietnamese woman who belongs to the “Shangqing” group, took advantage of the opportunity to go to Kaohsiung city for prostitution in January last year. She took the opportunity to escape from the control of the horseman and reported to the Southern District Affairs Bureau of the Immigration Department. The Kaohsiung Task Force of the brigade surrendered. Xiaowen admitted that she came to Taiwan for prostitution in the name of tourism, and a female member of the syndicate opened a thousand-yuan note and used it as a fan to cover her face to show off her wealth. The whole case attracted the attention of the Gaoping District Immigration Department and the police and investigated. Track down the smugglers and prostitution syndicates behind the scenes.
The Kaohsiung and Pingtung special teams of the Immigration Department have been working together to collect evidence for a year. At the same time, they worked with the Pingtung police to track down a man surnamed Xu (24 years old), the main suspect of the “Shangqing” group. They suspected that he was hiding in Pingtung City, pretending to renovate his house. Knowing that the landlord wanted to rent it out, he rented it and hired a foreign woman to move in and work as a prostitute.
The task force learned that Xu Nan and his accomplices, who were only 25 years old on average, formed a transnational human smuggling prostitution ring and recruited large numbers of Southeast Asian women to Taiwan with high salaries to engage in the sex trade. Under the guise of interior decoration, they took the opportunity to hide foreign female migrant workers who had lost contact over time and lived separately. Renting out apartments for prostitution and moving irregularly to avoid detection.
These foreign prostitutes live a squandering life. From time to time, they take photos showing off their wealth holding high-priced seafood or large amounts of money. Their behavior is exaggerated. Xu Nan and 14 other men and women divide the labor. Some are responsible for managing and controlling the foreign women, while others act as horsemen. The network was used to pick up women for prostitution until February this year. A search was conducted on multiple rental apartments in Pingtung City, and four Vietnamese and Thai women were found. Mobile phones, condoms, lubricants, account books and stolen money were confiscated. They were used for tourism or Come to Taiwan for prostitution on a short-term visa-free basis.
A total of 15 suspects were arrested in the whole case. After being transferred to the screen for crimes such as obstructing public decency, violating the Human Trafficking Prevention Act, and the Organized Crime Prevention Regulations, Xu Nan and other 6 group members were allowed to be detained. At the same time, the behind-the-scenes transnational human smuggling group was in-depth traced. .
