Southampton Vs Arsenal: The Gunners Defeated 0-1

Arsenal again lost. The Gunners this time subdued in the hand Southampton with a score of 0-1 due to goals from Jan Bednarek.

Arsenal travel to St. Mary’s, Saturday (16/4/2022) night WIB in the continuation of the English League. Mikel Arteta’s team dominated, but could not take advantage of the opportunities that were present.

Arsenal responded in the eighth minute through Gabriel Martinelli’s strike from the wing. His shot went into the bottom left corner of the net but was blocked by Fraser Forster.

Arsenal is building momentum. Another opportunity was created in the 16th minute when Martinelli’s through ball was received by Bukayo Saka on the left side. Saka shoots, again Forster can secure the goal.

The tempo gradually decreased and Soton silenced Arsenal.

GOAL! Soton took the lead from set pieces in the 44th minute! From a corner kick, the ball was driven away by Arsenal’s defense but was again controlled by Soton.

Mohamed Elyounoussi saved the ball before it went out and sent home a draw which Jan Bednarek grabbed. This goal ensured the hosts closed the first half winning 1-0.

Arsenal tried to increase the intensity of attacks in the second half. Opportunities were obtained in the 64th minute from Saka’s stab and his shot only ended wide.

Good opportunity for Arsenal in the 73rd minute. The Southampton defense failed to clear the ball perfectly and Emile-Smith Rowe’s volley was parried by Forster.

Another opportunity for the visitors in the 82nd minute. Saka’s shot went straight for the keeper, then Martin Odegaard’s effort missed!

Granit Xhaka’s heavy shot in the 84th minute was also stopped by Forster. Arsenal ran out of time to save points.

Saka stabbed in from the right in the 93rd minute and passed to Martinelli in front of the penalty box. Martinelli fired a hard shot that just shot over the goal.

No more goals until the game is over.
