South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Eko Indra Heri admits he was wrong regarding the polemic of a fraudulent Rp 2 trillion grant from his family Akidi Tio. He apologized to the whole community.
“This commotion is of course my fault as an individual,” said Inspector General Eko at the South Sumatra Police, Thursday (5/8/2021).
He admitted that he was not careful enough to trigger a polemic on fake grants. He apologized for the polemic that occurred.
“As an ordinary person and I apologize. This happened because of my carelessness as an individual when I received initial information,” he said.
Eko also apologized specifically to the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. He also apologized to all members of the Police.
“Personally, I apologize to all Indonesian people, especially to the Chief of the National Police, the main officers of the National Police Headquarters, members of the Indonesian National Police, and the people of South Sumatra,” said Eko.
“Religious figures, the governor, and the Danrem were involved in this commotion,” he added South Sumatra Police Chief.
The donation of IDR 2 trillion by the family of the late Akidi Tio for the handling of COVID-19 in South Sumatra is now a polemic. The promised funds did not exist because the balance was insufficient.
Police Headquarters then sent a team to examine the South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Eko Indra Heri, who symbolically received the aid from Akidi Tio’s son, Heryanty, on Monday (26/7).
“Regarding the South Sumatra Police Chief, the National Police Headquarters has dispatched an internal team, namely from the Itwasum Police Headquarters and from the Police Propam Div Paminal,” said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono in a virtual press conference, Wednesday (4/8).
Argo explained that the National Police Headquarters wanted to know the incident clearly by clarifying Inspector General Eko. The inspection will be carried out internally.
“Yes, of course we want to see what kind of clarity, how the case and that’s the realm of internal clarification,” he said.
Stupid Grant
The police have questioned Akidi Tio’s son, Heryanty, on Monday (2/8). From the inspection, it was found that the Rp 2 trillion promised did not exist.
The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) has also conducted an analysis and examination regarding the promise of a donation of IDR 2 trillion from the family. Akidi Tio. PPATK concluded that the Rp 2 trillion bilyet giro did not exist or was fake.
“Until yesterday, we have carried out an analysis and examination, and it can be concluded that the money mentioned in the bilyet giro does not exist,” said PPATK Head Dian Ediana Rae to reporters, Wednesday (4/8).
