South Sulawesi Health Office Announces 3 Suspected Patients Not Exposed to Mysterious Hepatitis

The South Sulawesi Health Office (Dinkes) announced the results of the examination of samples of three suspected patients mysterious hepatitis who was being treated at the Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital (RSWS), Makassar has been discharged. Three suspected patients were confirmed negative or not exposed to mysterious hepatitis.

“There have been results from Jakarta, the adenovirus, after all, the results were negative, none, not unknown (mysterious hepatitis), negative, so it means that the unknown does not exist,” said Acting Head of the South Sulawesi Health Service (Dinkes) Bachtiar Baso, Tuesday (7/7). /6/2020).

The three patients were known to have tested for hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E but the results were negative. The samples were then sent to the Health Laboratory of the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) in Jakarta to test for rubella and adenovirus.

From the results of the examination, the three samples were declared negative for adenovirus. However, all three patients were suspected of having rubella.

“There is a tendency for these patients, these children to lead to rubella,” he explained.

Bachtiar said the three of them would again undergo a bacterial examination to see the microorganisms in their bodies. If the result is negative, it can be ascertained that South Sulawesi is safe from mysterious hepatitis.

“Hopefully the next examination for bacteria, negative (results) also means that the noodles are finished, safe,” he explained.

Even so, Bachtiar remains alert to the presence of the mysterious hepatitis virus in South Sulawesi. He instructed all District/City Health Offices to increase vigilance.

“If there are symptoms that point to unknown hepatitis, immediately notify us, immediately bring them to Makassar,” he asked.

In addition, his party asked the Laboratory of Environmental Health Engineering Center and the Central Health Laboratory in South Sulawesi to become powerful laboratories. Both laboratories are expected to speed up test results for patients who have symptoms of acute hepatitis.

“If they can’t (detect the viral hepatitis Mmsterius) then we will send it to Jakarta,” he said.
