Six South Sudanese journalists have been arrested by police after they released a video showing the country’s president, Salva Kiir, starting to urinate during a public event.
Last month, media outlets released footage on social media of Kiir, 71, involuntarily passing out as the African nation’s national anthem played.
The South Sudan Journalists’ Union confirmed that six of their colleagues were arrested by the authorities “on suspicion” of having participated in the publication of the video in question.
Salva Kiir has been the country’s only president since its independence from Sudan in 2011.
