“It is with regret that our diplomat was involved in an alleged rape incident with a New York resident.”the Ministry of International Affairs and Global Cooperation claimed in a statement published Thursday night on the government’s Twitter account.
“The diplomat in query has now returned to South Sudan and has been suspended from support, pending the end result of this investigation”the assertion mentioned, indicating that “Sexual misconduct in any form is repugnant and entirely unacceptable.”
Issued for diplomatic immunity
The assertion did not specify the nature of the allegations towards the diplomat, but US media explained a girl accused him of forcibly breaking into her Manhattan apartment on Sunday and raping her. He was arrested and taken into custody by the law enforcement, who introduced him following professing diplomatic immunity.
The US Condition Division stated Wednesday it was “informed of the incident (…) which involved a diplomat accredited to the UN”. “We take these allegations pretty very seriously and are operating closely with the NYPD and the Mayor’s Business office of Global Affairs.”State Section spokesman Vedant Patel mentioned.
