“South Stream” for Bulgaria has ended – 2024-09-17 08:58:15

/ world today news/ “The changes in the pension reform do not provide transparency and stability,” commented BSP leader Mihail Mikov to Darik Radio.

“We did not support the transfer from the private pension funds to the NSI, because introduced in this way, the changes do not provide transparency and stability of funds – for what and where they will go,” Mikov explained. He is of the opinion that the proposal was made before the big conversation was held about where the pension reform is going and what changes should be made. Mikov believes that the details are very important and asked how specific lots are converted into general funds in the cost-covering system of the National Institute of Social Sciences. “If a solution was proposed, with which NOI creates its own fund, which on the same principles participates in the competition in the second pillar, it would be logical and a manifestation of the state as a good manager,” he emphasized.

Mikhail Mikov explained that it is necessary to freeze the retirement age this year as well. “We think that the age and length of service have reached some optimum for tolerance in this state of the economy, employment and income of the Bulgarian citizens,” explained the chairman of the BSP. Mikov said he would support Boyko Borissov if he introduced progressive taxation and laws that were fairer for Bulgarian citizens.

“South Stream” for Bulgaria has ended

Mihail Mikov believes that “South Stream” is over for Bulgaria. He is of the opinion that it is necessary to enter into a dialogue on the interstate agreement with Russia and clarify what is happening. “The other is continuing efforts with the clear awareness that they will not yield results,” he added. According to him, it is necessary to clarify whether it is being built or not and to be responsible for the consequences.

On the occasion of the BSP’s position on lifting sanctions against Russia from the EU, the chairman of the party explained that Europe is losing a lot from these sanctions, and Bulgaria is losing even more. “We have a position adopted by the SC and this matter should be considered in the context of international law,” he said.

The chairman of the BSP stated that KTB was an event not only last year, but will continue to be an event next year as well. “During our administration, we implemented the decision on the equal distribution of funds from state-owned companies in various banks, which were concentrated during Borisov’s administration in KTB. The big question is whether there are other CTBs in Bulgaria and an answer must be received from the BNB and the current administration. The other is investigation and history,” he emphasized.

In order to have political stability, there must be integrity in dealing with voters, not power at any cost

“In the past year, we have parted with the illusion that the president can be the unifier of the nation. He played in a certain way against the previous government, and now we see that he is not so principled when it comes to constitutional rights,” Mikov specified. He believes that the illusion that elections provide political stability has also been debunked, because despite the numerous parties represented in the National Assembly, more than 50% of citizens did not go to vote. “In order to have political stability, there must be integrity in relations with voters, not power at any cost. There should also be more normal relations between political parties and politics should be transparent, because hidden relations make citizens not believe in it,” he explained.

Bulgaria as a European welfare state

Mihail Mikov highlighted the fact that in 2014 a process was started in the BSP, which will be longer – of winning back the right of an authentic left, which represents the interests of the majority of Bulgarian citizens. “The goal in 2015 is to increase the income of those 14 social groups that were frozen. And for those 272,000 people working on the minimum wage, who were deprived of the 10% refund, let the one bread a day in their family, which the previous government gave them, be returned to them,” the BSP chairman wished.

When asked what the subject of 2014 is, Mikov answered – a coffee maker. “It was no accident that I gave you a coffee mug with the BSP inscription on it,” he pointed out. The Left leader explained that this was the tongue-in-cheek reading of the question. “The main subject should be the welfare state, Bulgaria as a European welfare state,” concluded Mihail Mikov.
