South Music, which will be held in Faro tomorrow and the day after, will become a showcase of the most talented artists and musical projects from the Algarve region. Within the framework of a project promoted by the City Council of Faro and the Teatro das Figuras in view of the candidacy of said city to European Capital of Culture 2027, the aforementioned initiative seeks to promote the cultural and creative sector of southern Portugal
The aforementioned project is an opportunity for emerging and consolidated artists in the region to present themselves and have contact with different actors belonging to the fields of music production, promotion and publishing. In this sense, the platform has received more than 150 applications since the opening of the registrations of a wide range of musical genres (rock, jazz, pop, MPB, hip hop, indie and talk) that met the requirements stipulated in the regulations, such as the presentation of original compositions and the naturalness or residence of the Algarve. In addition to the musicians, among the hundreds of profiles created, there are several professionals from 13 municipalities in the Algarve in the categories of author, producer, technician, agent, promoter and booker. In fact, it should be noted that 33 musical projects have been selected for the first edition. They are already immersed in a training and learning process to be presented in the showcase for the next few days.
The action, which includes both the exhibition of bands and selected individual musical projects as well as training actions and conferences, will begin on Tuesday and Wednesday at 5:30 in the Arco Gallery. Likewise, it should be noted that the workshops deal with proposals as diverse as makeup, the category of freelance or the photographic process, as well as that the concerts will be carried out by Peculiar & Freak, Dispirited Spirits, Martim Beles and Petr Gdsoon.
The event is aimed at professionals in the sector and the general public, free of charge, through an innovative platform that transports you to a completely virtual environment where you can live the experience of a music festival in multiple dimensions. In this way, South Music 3D World It will allow you to see the concerts live, interact with other participants and perform experiments with avatars.
Then, after the development of the event, South Music will continue as platform, hosting videos, audios, information and contacts of the participating bands, working as a content aggregator and communication vehicle with the music industry.
