Nine others are missing.
Many areas in South Korea have suffered heavy rainfall for days, and landslides and mudslides have occurred, causing houses to collapse, vehicles to be damaged, and crops to be flooded. In Cheongju City, North Chungcheong Province, more than 10 vehicles were trapped in the underground driveway by stagnant water, killing 13 people.
The Central Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters stated that more than 6,000 households, a total of more than 10,000 people, have been evacuated urgently, and traffic control has been implemented on roads in many places. As of the 17th, some railway trains across the country have been suspended.
