South Korean Thriller ‘Sleep’ Dominates Box Office with 390,000 Moviegoers on Opening Weekend

Yonhap News Agency, Seoul, September 11 (Xinhua) South Korea’s local thriller “Sleep” attracted more than 390,000 moviegoers during its first weekend of release, maintaining a good sales momentum.

According to data released by the Movie Ticket Comprehensive Computer Network on the 11th, “Sleep” attracted more than 395,000 moviegoers last weekend (8th to 10th), accounting for 43.5% of the box office revenue, ranking first on the box office list. Since its release on the 6th of this month, the film has led the box office for five consecutive days, with a cumulative number of moviegoers reaching more than 539,000.

During the same period, Nolan’s masterpiece “Oppenheimer” attracted more than 132,000 moviegoers, accounting for 15.9% of the box office revenue, ranking second.
