SERAMBINEWS.COM – Yonhap News reports that forensic authorities in South Korea have found no link between the death of a 17 year old boy and the flu shot.
The confirmation by the South Korean government comes amid growing concerns about the safety of vaccines following the deaths of 32 people in the country.
The teenager was among the first to die as part of a government campaign to vaccinate nearly 30 million people from a total population of 52 million to help prevent complications from the coronavirus.
Data released by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) put the death toll at 25 on Thursday last week.
The case prompted doctors and politicians to demand that the South Korean government end the program.
Yonhap News reported on Friday that there were seven new deaths yesterday.

South Korean health officials refused to suspend the campaign, as there was no evidence of a direct link between the deaths and vaccines.
Citing police, Yonhap said that South Korea’s national forensic service had conducted autopsies on some of the dead and found that the vaccine did not cause the 17-year-old girl’s death.
Forensic doctors and police could not be reached for comment.
