SEOUL, Oct. 29 (Yonhap) – South Korean actor Lee Byung-hun has won an American entertainment award for his Asian and Asian-American contributions to film and television, the event organizer said Friday.

Lee was included in the list of winners of the event “Entertainment Summit and Innovators Awards USA-Asia”, along with Bela Bajaria, director of global television at Netflix, and Destin Daniel Cretton, director of the superhero film ” Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings “(Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings), 2021.

The annual event, held by the nonprofit Asia Society, aims to recognize the contributions of members of the entertainment industry throughout the Asian region.

South Korean singer and actor Jung Ji-hoon, also known as Rain, received the award for entertainment innovator in 2019.

Lee has received critical acclaim for his performances in a wide range of genres throughout his 30-year career, in such films as 2005’s “A Bittersweet Life”, “The Good, the Bad, the Weird “(The good, the bad and the rare), of 2008, and” Masquerade “(Masquerade), of 2012.

Since his Hollywood debut with “GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra” in 2009, he has appeared in several American films, including 2015’s “Terminator Genisys” and “The Magnificent Seven” (2017).
