South Korea U-17 coach Byun Sung Hwan said his team should be able to score two to three goals against the net U-17 Indonesian National Team.
The Indonesia U-17 trial match against Korea at the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, ended with a score of 1-0 for the visitors. This is the result Byun didn’t really want.
In Byun’s view, his team should be able to score more goals. One of them was through a penalty that failed to execute properly because it hit the goalpost.
“We scored fewer goals than I expected. We should have scored two to three goals. But the Indonesian team played very enthusiastically,” Byun said.
“So it’s a little difficult to score more goals. We also have problems with stamina, physically, maybe our players are a little tired. That’s why we only scored one goal,” Byun added.
Nevertheless, Byun did not feel badly disappointed. This is because trials are not the main goal in Indonesia. The main thing is to practice and try out the Indonesian climate.
This is considered important because the 2023 U-17 World Cup will take place in Indonesia. With the training camp in Indonesia, Byun wants his team to start adapting well.
“Firstly, I want to thank you for the preparation for this match. This match was very well prepared. So, this is a very good match for our players,” he said.
“So this is like an official match, lots of spectators, and also the chairman of PSSI is also watching and also coach Shin. They came here to support the Indonesian national team. I really enjoyed this match,” said Byun.
