Moscow. December 26. INTERFAX.RU – South Korean authorities have tightened controls over exports to Russia and Belarus, expanding restrictions to about 700 more types of goods, reports on Tuesday, Yonhap news agency cited the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The new list included 682 titles. These products include heavy construction equipment, batteries, and aircraft components.
Thus, as the agency notes, the total list of products subject to restrictions on supply to the Russian Federation and Belarus has increased to 1,159 types of goods.
The new measures are expected to come into effect in early 2024.
At the same time, the ministry indicated that they may allow the export of goods from the list in “exceptional cases,” but each of them will be considered individually.
According to information from the South Korean department, these measures were taken in response to Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine.
In April of this year, South Korea banned the export of goods to Russia and Belarus, in particular those related to semiconductors and quantum computers.
