South Korea Prints Record of Highest Daily Corona Cases for 3 Days in a row

It’s been three days in a row South Korea (South Korea) sets daily case record corona virus (COVID-19) is the highest in the region. For the latest record, South Korea recorded more than 1,300 cases of Corona in the last 24 hours.

As reported Reuters and Yonhap News Agency, Saturday (10/7/2021), the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) reported that 1,378 cases of Corona were detected in a day. Of that number, 1,320 cases were local cases or transmission occurred in the community.

This figure shifts the previous record high recorded on Friday (9/7) local time, when South Korea reported 1,316 cases of Corona in a day.

The jump also marks the first time the number of daily coronavirus cases in South Korea has exceeded 1,200 for four consecutive days. In detail, South Korea is known to report 1,212 cases on Wednesday (7/7), then rose to 1,275 cases on Thursday (8/7) and rose again to 1,316 cases on Friday (9/7).

Spike after spike in cases continues to be recorded in South Korea, which is facing the fourth wave of Corona. With the latest spike, a total of 166,722 Corona cases have now been confirmed in South Korea.

KDCA also reported two deaths from Corona in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll in South Korea now to 2,038.

Amid the increase in cases, the South Korean authorities decided to tighten the Corona restrictions to the highest level, especially in the capital city Seoul and surrounding. The restrictions will be tightened for two weeks.
