South Korea can help Europe with gas supplies

LNG supplies to Europe increased amid gas shortages

Seoul expressed hope that the situation around Ukraine would be resolved through diplomacy and dialogue.

South Korean authorities are considering the possibility of organizing natural gas supplies to Europe. This was stated by Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Chung Eui Yong, RIA Novosti reported on Sunday, February 13.

“Regarding Ukraine, the situation is developing in the wrong direction, and regarding the support for sending natural gas to Europe, in terms of helping gas supplies to Europe, if there are any difficulties, we are actively considering this issue. I hope that the situation in Ukraine will be resolved with the help of diplomacy and dialogue,” Jung Ui Yong said at a press conference following talks with his American and Japanese counterparts.

On February 12, the foreign ministers of South Korea, Japan and the United States held talks in Hawaii in Honolulu, where they discussed, among other things, the problem of the Korean Peninsula.

This week it became known that Several tankers headed from Japan to Europe with liquefied gas. This was announced by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of the country Koichi Hagiuda.
