SUKABUMIUPDATE.com – Sky phenomena such as meteor showers are always interesting to observe, especially for people who like astronomy.
As happened today, Sunday to Monday, July 30-31 2023, there will be the peak of two meteor shower phenomena, namely the South Delta Aquarids and Alpha Capricornid.
Launching from the Southern Sky page, the Delta Aquarid meteor shower is a meteor shower originating from the fragments of the comets Marsden and Kracht Sungrazing. Just like the eta Aquarids, this southern delta Aquarid meteor shower actually took place from July 18 – August 21 2023 and appears to have come from the constellation Aquarius.

This meteor shower will reach its peak on July 30 with 25 meteors per hour with a speed of 41 km/s.
The Aquarid meteor shower can be observed from 19:44 WIB until dawn. Moonlight will be a disturbing factor because the new Convex Moon sets at 04:19 WIB.
In addition to the Southern Aquarid Delta and Austrinid Piscis, on July 30 the Alpha Capricornid meteor shower will reach its peak.
This meteor shower has lasted from July 7 to August 15 and appears to be coming from the direction of the constellation Capricorn.

The Alpha Capricornid meteor shower originates from comet 45P Honda-Mrkos-Pajdusakova. However, another allegation of the origin of this meteor shower is the asteroid 2002 EX12, which became known as comet 169P/NEAT.
The Capricornid meteor shower will peak on July 30 at a rate of five meteors per hour. The constellation Capricorn itself has risen since sunset and observers can enjoy the alpha Capricornid meteor shower all night until dawn.
Moonlight will be a disturbing factor because the new Convex Moon sets at 04:19 WIB.
