Officers explained that, after searching for clues in the neighborhood trash cans, they discovered a critical evidence at Taylor’s residence. Among the items were a child’s boot and a soup ladle that contained ” freshly excavated land“After analyzing the DNA, the authorities confirmed their connection with Faye’s death.

The Lexington County coroner, Margaret Fisher, could not contain her tears by expressing her condolences to the victim’s relatives. He explained that the killing took place a few hours after registering the kidnapping.

Detectives explained that Taylor was contacted and interviewed by police on Wednesday afternoon. “He was cooperative and gave his consent to enter his house,” said Snellgrove. At the time, the agents saw nothing to alert them about their connection to the Faye’s disappearance.

They organize vigil in honor of Faye

On its Facebook page, the Cayce Department of Public Safety called on the community to participate in a vigil. The event will be Tuesday at the City Hall Front Lawn, in Cayce, South Carolina, at 5:30 p.m. The city will provide candles to attendees.
