South Africa’s Victory over England Secures Rugby World Cup Finals Spot

The South African rugby players secured a place in the finals at the Rugby World Cup in Paris on Saturday evening. After a nerve-wracking final phase, South Africa won 16-15 against England.

England went into halftime with a 12-6 lead and looked to be on their way to the final. The ‘Springboks’ changed their line-up after a disappointing first act, after which the English lead shrank to 15-13.

Three minutes before the end, Handre Pollard gave the South African team the lead for the first time. The goal was scored from a penalty kick from almost 50 meters.

South Africa’s victory over England was comparable to the sensational victory over France in the quarter-final. The 2019 world champion defeated the host country in a spectacle: 29-28.

South Africa will face New Zealand in the final, which won 6-44 against Argentina on Friday. That match is scheduled for October 28 at 9 p.m. in the Stade de France. New Zealand and South Africa are going for their fourth world title.

The ‘Springboks’ won the World Cup in 1995, 2007 and 2019. In 1987, 2011 and 2015, the ‘All Blacks’ were already crowned the best in the world.
